ISSUE

Customer had water damage from master bathroom that they were working with their insurance company to remediate. After moving forward with their project with a contractor recommended by their insurance company, they quickly identified that the contractors were not flooring experts – from the quality of the flooring selection provided to the installation and cuts of the hardwood that they noticed as the project progressed.

Additionally, the contractor did not have the expertise to replace the water-damaged subfloor in the master bathroom or install the tile in the design required by the customer. The install process was disjointed with numerous subcontractors being added to the mix which also resulted in stolen property from the customer’s home. The customer removed the contractor from the project.

SOLUTION

Floor Coverings International of Austin came in to review the flooring installation and devise a plan for remediation. We provided them with a full-service solution to include a project plan, working with the insurance and selecting new hardwood that met their specifications. We Installed lighter color wood to lighten the space with wider planks to make the space look bigger throughout. We installed new plumbing lines throughout the master bathroom, moved drains, waterproofed and installed the customer-provided tile to their specifications.
